Welcome to our School Board Members 2024

School Board Member 2024

George Craig - Principal

As the Foundation Principal of Caversham Valley PS my focus is to bring our diverse community together and operate as a single school. Before us is the very exciting challenge of acknowledging and embracing the many different cultures and language groups that make up the backgrounds of our families and students. It is this rich tapestry that makes our school and school day so dynamic and enjoyable. Of critical importance is the opportunity that we have as a staff to further broaden and develop our knowledge and learning when working closely with the school community.

The education industry has provided me with the opportunity to work across Western Australia including the Kimberley, Pilbara, South West, Wheatbelt and Perth. These opportunities have been in primary schools, high schools, district high schools and remote community schools. Each setting has brought with it different challenges, learning experiences and rewards. A majority of my teaching career has been in the country including nine years outside of Perth as a Deputy Principal or Principal. Since 2015 I have been a Principal in Perth schools. I look forward to establishing Caversham Valley Primary School as a place that is recognised in the community as a safe and encouraging space for children to grow and learn.

School Board Member 2024

Amelia Baltovich- Teacher

My name is Amelia Baltovich and I am looking forward to joining the Caversham Valley School Board in 2024. I am not only a teacher at the school, I am also a parent and community member. I believe it is a privilege to teach the children in which you are a part of their wider community.

Within the classroom I develop independent and self-motivated learners who are equipped for the future. I hold great importance in allowing and encouraging mistakes, working together to find solutions, enhancing emotional intelligence, and developing students who are problem solvers and innovators.

I am grateful to be taking a position on the CVPS School Board, to build on the achievements already made and continue to make our mark in the landscape of Public Education.

Justin Eveson - Teacher

As one of the foundation staff members at Caversham Valley PS, I have had the pleasure of assisting our school to grow into a pillar of the Caversham community. We have embraced many challenges since opening and each time, we have moved forward together to the benefit of those who matter most, the children of our school.

I believe strongly in public education providing engaging, motivating and stable learning environments for all children, no matter their circumstances. I have taught in both the public and private sectors, but Caversham Valley PS is special to me because of all that we have learned and achieved together so far. I look forward to continuing these efforts at  board level, so that we may continue our progression.

Outside of school, I enjoy being outdoors and travelling the beautiful state that we live in with my family.

Emily Richards - Teacher

Hi my name is Emily Richards and I am excited to joining Caversham Valley's School Board.

Working in Early Childhood Education is an absolute passion of mine. I believe Early Childhood Education is pivotal in building a curiosity for learning in a safe and encouraging environment.  As of one the foundation staff members of our school, I have had the privilege of getting to know the families in our school community and even teaching families with multiple siblings. I am looking forward to being a part of our school's board to further the fantastic growth and achievement of our school community.

Outside of school, I enjoy snorkelling, camping and spending time with my dog, Penny.

I am excited to be joining the CVPS Board in 2023. My husband and I have three children, our son and daughter have attended CVPS since its foundation year and our youngest son is ready to begin his schooling journey in 2024.

I enjoy a corporate position at Bankwest, where I have been employed for the past 13 years. I have held a variety of roles all of which have included leadership, decision making and being comfortable in Executive/Board environments.

As a family, we are committed to being an active part of the school community, with both my husband and myself current P&C members. We strive to show kindness and be outward minded in how we live our lives. I care about our school, our success as a community and the values we choose to adopt and foster in our children. I am interested in ensuring that we continue to be inclusive; always considering our diverse culture set, socio-economic complexities and student population.

I am excited to contribute to the development of Caversham Valley Primary School through my contribution to the board. My wife and I have lived in Caversham since the school was established and my children attend the school.

I look forward to supporting the Principal and other school staff to achieve their vision for the school. I am passionate about the crucial work that teachers, and indeed all education staff, play in forming these children who will grow into our future leaders. I want to ensure that the school has good governance so that education can be the focus.

Outside of being a parent, I have over a decade of experience as a barrister with a broad practice. I have been privileged to have acted for a wide range of people and organisations. That has included victims of domestic violence, asylum seekers, small business and ASX 200 companies. I am a supporter of pro bono work and have been pro bono coordinator of the WA Bar Association for over 5 years. I bring all of this experience to my work on the board.
