WELCOME TO CAVERSHAM VALLEY PRIMARY SCHOOL

ENROLMENTS FOR 2023 NOW OPEN - APPLY TO ENROL TODAY

Thank you for your interest in applying to enrol your child at Caversham Valley Primary School.

Caversham Valley PS is a local intake school. This means that you must reside within the school boundary area to enrol your child in our school.

Kindergarten is not a compulsory year of schooling and due to accommodation pressures, places in Kindy 2023 will be limited.

Please note: Completing an application to enrol does not guarantee placement in Kindergarten.

If the number of Kindergarten applications exceeds the number of places available, the Principal will assess each enrolment application according to criteria specified in the Department of Education’s Enrolment in Public Schools policy.

Parents seeking to enrol their child need to complete an Application for Enrolment Form and submit it with the required documentation.

When completing the application for enrolment you will also be required to provide evidence that you reside within the local intake area for Caversham Valley Primary School.

1. ENROLMENT FORM

2. ORIGINAL DOCUMENTATION

You will  be required to provide the school with the following documentation:

  • Student’s Birth Certificate (original must be sighted by the school administration- copies or emailed documents not accepted)
     
  • Proof of Residence

To assist the school to determine the student’s eligibility under local intake, you are required to provide (two documents) with your name and address details as proof that the address where your child will reside is within our local intake area.

Evidence must be in the form of:

-A current shire rates notice OR a copy of a current rental agreement OR water rates

One additional piece of evidence such as:

-A Power bill, gas bill, contents insurance, phone or internet bill.

 

3. IMMUNISATION RECORD

The school must sight a recent copy of your child's Medicare Immunisation History Statement at the time of enrolment. The statement needs to state that it is up to date and must be within two months of the date of application.

It is essential that all of the information on these forms is accurate and current.

4. OVERSEAS STUDENTS
 

Students born overseas must hold either;

  • an Australian passport
     
  • citizenship papers
     
  • or an appropriate visa before applying to the school.

Students who do not hold an Australian passport during the application process must present their Visa Grant Notice and passport at the time of enrolment.

 

5. OVERSEAS PARENTS
 

If both parents are born overseas, they must present either;

  • an Australian passport
     
  •  citizenship papers
     
  • or their Visa Grant Notice and passport at the time of enrolment.

Please note- originals must be sighted by school administration. Photocopies will not be accepted
 

6. STUDENT RECORDS

If relevant, please provide the school with the following documents;

  • Any previous school reports
  • Information about known Health Conditions which will need to be managed by the school (All medical information needs to be correct at time of enrolment to enable the school to create an emergency response plan, if required.)

 

7. SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS

Parents/carers of students with special needs are asked to advise the school at the time of enrolment so that the school can ensure that appropriate programs and support is put in place to meet the needs of your child.

 

8. ACCESS RESTRICTIONS
 

Under the School Education Act 1999, parents/carers are required to inform schools of any family court orders or other orders which are applicable to their child/children. The school must sight all original documents. Any changes to orders must be provided to the school as soon as possible.

 

CANCELLATION OF ENROLMENT

Parents are reminded that under the Education Act 1999, Division 2.20 the Principal may cancel the enrolment if the enrolment was obtained by giving false or misleading information.

 Please note:

  • Student enrolment for Western Australian Public Schools is a two-part process. 
  • Application for Enrolment does not guarantee placement.
  • Kindergarten classes fill quickly. Please return the COMPLETE application along with ALL requested supporting documentation ASAP. Please note original documents must be sighted by school administration.
  • Incomplete applications cannot be accepted.
  • Children may be enrolled in one school only, either public or private
